What Do We Mean By "Faith"?
To us, Faith isn’t exclusively one belief in one religion. Faith encompasses just that —all faiths. It includes all denominations and includes not only beliefs but hope.
We believe Faith is most powerful when it is defined to include faith in one’s self, in community with others, and in something much bigger.
You might not yet have full faith in yourself, but what we’ve found is when we don’t have faith in ourselves, we have faith in us, and something bigger - and that faith pushes us to keep going.
If you are here, you might have just started to ask questions without easy answers. You might have just begun to find faith in your potential, or you might be searching for your purpose. Even if you feel you are on the wrong path, we have faith in second chances, in reboots, and jump-starts.
By saying we believe in Faith in others, we mean in the good of all people. We believe people are generous, thoughtful, compassionate, and worthy of our trust until proven otherwise. We have faith that women in community can be more powerful than any single individual -- and together, we can do anything.
Faith in something bigger means we believe in the divinity within each one of us and the current of grace running through this world connecting us all. For some, that may mean a specific theology but for others, a spirituality. We have faith that there is a purpose for each one of us in this world which can only be discovered by connecting with each other.
Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen infuses faith into her medical practice and for 40 years, she has researched both life and death. She writes, “Perhaps the secret of living well is not in having all the answers but in pursuing unanswerable questions in good company.”
